MDRF Proud to Support Local Charities

Metro Denver REALTOR® Foundation donates $175,000 to nine local charities

The Metro Denver REALTOR® Foundation (MDRF) has awarded a total of $175,000 in grants to nine charitable organizations focused on providing diverse services and resources to children and families throughout the metro area.

Organizations receiving grants are:

* Arising Hope provides safe and secure emergency housing to victims of domestic violence.

* Aurora Interfaith Community Service provides living assistance to families in crisis, emergency medication funds, bus tickets when available, and school supplies for children.

* Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need to meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered, family-like homes, opportunities and education through college.

* Colorado Center for the Blind has been challenging blind people to reach new heights of independence since 1988.

* Comitis Crisis Center provides programs that help individuals in recovery from addiction, trauma, mental health issues and homelessness.

* Gateway Battered Women’s Services is the only agency specifically serving victims of family violence in the city of Aurora and Arapahoe County Colorado, including rural cities.

* Highpoint @ Colfax a weekly, faith-based children’s program held at Crawford Elementary, deep in the heart of Aurora’s urban corridor. The program helps homeless and at-risk youth by providing meals, small-group activities, and a large-group presentation teaching moral themes.

* Project Pave focuses on empowering elementary, middle, and high students in our communities to end the cycle of relationship violence.

* Samaritan House serves men, women, and children facing homelessness in metro Denver.

Founded in 1988, the Metro Denver REALTOR® Foundation is comprised of REALTOR® members and representatives from affiliate business organizations who belong to one of five local REALTOR® Associations – Aurora, Denver Metro, Denver Metro Commercial Association, Douglas Elbert and South Metro. Since its inception, MDRF grants have been awarded to more than 100 local organizations that serve thousands of families and children at-risk in metro Denver.

With a strong history of philanthropy throughout the region, these contributions mark the final grants being distributed from the MDRF. But for REALTORS®and charitable organizations throughout Denver and the state, the REALTOR®-based grant opportunities will continue thanks to the creation of the Colorado REALTOR® Foundation (CRF). Formed in 2015, CRF will carry on the long-standing, community-based objectives and traditions that have served as the focus of the MDRF for the past 28 years.

“As professionals who live and work in the same community, giving back to local organizations who are helping families and children at risk has always been our passion, and focus” said MDRF Trustee Kellie Cobb with Professional Restoration.

“With more than 21,000 REALTORS® in the state of Colorado, the REALTOR® brand and REALTOR® community are extremely strong.

On behalf of the generous supporters of MDRF, as well as the current and former Trustees; we are proud to have served and worked together to make such a positive impact inside our communities.”

The 2011 REALTOR® Rally – A Rousing Success!

Last year the MDRF REALTOR® Rally booth generated a lot of buzz!  We  increased donations over 400% from 2010 and was able to provide 73 backpacks for students in need.

We could not have done this without the support of our REALTOR® Boards and their Affiliates.

The MDRF REALTOR® Rally booth could also not be possible without the generous donations from metro Denver local business owner, Neil Fancher and his team at CDIS, Complete Digital Imaging Solutions in Aurora, for donating all the printing for the banner and the tree at the booth.  Thank you Neil for your continued support! And Thanks to Mico Smith, of Metamorphing Interiors for staging the booth each year!

Thank you for your commitment and donation to the Metro Denver REALTOR® Foundation. Together we are improving our communities, one family at a time, and giving back to our community by serving, and educating, children and families at risk.
